Topic to discuss 🛑🛑🛑 nightmare experience in the work place.
I was given the opportunity to be involved in a project at work. The project was right up my street, and something I had always wanted to do. I work in a large company and there are promotions and different things happening all the time. The project lasted a week and I worked in a group with all females and the group was also led by a female. This woman is roughly late 30s and has always seen herslef as superior to everyone else. I didn't have much interactions prior with her only just seen her coming into my marketing department when she needed to. She had been into my department a few times and was always loud, bossy and opinionated. She is a supervisor as well as a project leader and works in the advertising department, hence why she led the group but she has several people above her.
There was about 10 of us including her in the group for the project. She always made sure she was loud and she acted as if it was only her ideas that mattered. A lot of the girls on the team came up with some very good ideas and they were used on the project in the end. When we went to the design department, we were all pretty much told to 'shut up' and to let her deal with it, as she knew what was best for the company and claimed everything was her design and her work. I put my ideas forward on the meeting with the designers and mentioned how hard everyone had worked to get everything right. The other ladies on the project agreed with me but the team leader said, that my ideas were basic and boring. She then stood outside berating me that I would never get anywhere in the company and that I should quit now. I did my best to ignore her, but she was just a nightmare. After the project was complete,I tried my best to avoid her. She was rude to anyone and everyone and acted as if the company was hers. She would scream at the cleaners, insisting they had not cleaned the staff toilets properly and that they should go back to training. I can only imagine what she was like as a supervisor on her department and was glad that my supervisor was normal. Eventually, after what seemed like months, our head of department spoke to us and told us that her manager had gone to speak to the head of the company and she was fired due to her behaviour. Once she had gone, everything was much smoother. I haven't heard anything of her since.
But my question is, have you ever had a nightmare colleague or employer?
