Keeping Your VibeTag Account Private and Secure

Your privacy is extremely important to us. VibeTag provides tools that help you protect your account, control who can see your content, and manage how others interact with you.
Below is everything you need to know about making your account private and keeping your information safe.

Setting Your Account to Private

By default, VibeTag accounts are public, meaning anyone on or off VibeTag can view your profile and posts. You can switch to a private account at any time.

Public Accounts

  • Anyone can view your posts, profile, and follower lists.

  • Your content may appear on hashtag or location pages, even to people who do not follow you.

Private Accounts

  • Only followers you approve can see your posts, profile details, follower lists, and activity.

  • Your content on hashtag or location pages will only be visible to approved followers.

  • You have full control over who sees what you share.

Important for Users Under 18

If you sign up for VibeTag while under the age of 18:

  • You will be given the option to choose public or private.

  • Private is selected by default for added safety.

How to Switch Your VibeTag Account to Private

  1. Tap your profile icon in the bottom right.

  2. Tap More Options (☰ or ⋮) in the top left.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Tap Privacy.

  5. Toggle Private Account on.

Your account is now private. Only people you approve can follow you or see what you share.

Things to Keep in Mind About Private Accounts

Posts Shared Outside VibeTag

If you share a private post to another social network, it may become visible based on that platform’s privacy settings.

Follow Requests

Once your account is private:

  • People must send a follow request to view your profile and posts.

  • Requests appear in your Activity tab, where you can approve or ignore them.

Existing Followers

If your account was public before switching to private:

  • Followers you already had will still be able to see your posts.

  • If you no longer want someone to see your content, you can block them.

Additional Ways to Protect Your Privacy

Block Someone

Blocking removes the person from your followers, stops them from seeing your content, and prevents them from contacting you.

Turn Off Your Activity Status

You can choose to hide your “active” or “last seen” status so others can’t see when you’re online.

Access and Review Your Data

VibeTag allows you to view, download, or manage the data connected to your account at any time.
