> “18+” and Restricted to a Profile

Why Some Content Is Marked as “18+” and Restricted to Your Profile

At VibeTag, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and responsible environment for everyone. To help protect users—especially minors—we apply age-based restrictions to certain content that is intended for adults only.

When you see the message “Content is rated 18+ and restricted to your profile”, it means the content has limited visibility due to its nature and audience suitability.

What Does “18+ Content” Mean on VibeTag?

Content may be marked as 18+ if it includes or suggests material intended only for adults. This can include, but is not limited to:

  • Sexual or suggestive themes

  • Explicit or mature language

  • Adult discussions or sensitive topics

  • Mature imagery that may not be suitable for younger audiences

Marking content as 18+ does not automatically mean the content violates VibeTag’s Community Guidelines. In many cases, it simply means the content requires age-based access control.

Why Is the Content Restricted to Your Profile?

When content is rated 18+, VibeTag limits where it can appear to prevent exposure to unintended audiences.

As a result:

  • The content does not appear in public feeds, Explore pages, or recommendations

  • It is not visible to users under the age of 18

  • It may only be viewable directly on your profile by eligible users

  • It does not appear on hashtag or location pages

These restrictions help ensure adult content is shared responsibly while still allowing creators to express themselves within platform rules.

How Content Gets Rated as 18+

Content may be labeled as 18+ through:

  • Automated detection systems

  • Reports from other users

  • Manual review by VibeTag’s Safety Team

We assess content based on context, visuals, language, and potential risk—not just keywords or isolated elements.

What Happens After the Restriction Is Applied

Once content is marked as 18+:

  • The restriction is applied automatically

  • The post remains on your profile unless it violates policy

  • Reach and engagement may be reduced due to limited visibility

  • You may receive a notification explaining the restriction

Does This Affect Your Account Standing?

In most cases, no.

An 18+ restriction:

  • Is not a strike

  • Does not automatically penalize your account

  • Does not mean your account is at risk

However, repeated posting of restricted or borderline content may lead to additional reviews or further limitations if Community Guidelines are violated.

Can I Appeal an 18+ Restriction?

Yes. If you believe your content was incorrectly labeled as 18+:

  1. Go to the affected post

  2. Open the post options

  3. Select Request Review or Appeal (if available)

  4. Provide any relevant context

Our Support Team will review the appeal and notify you of the final decision.

Who Can View 18+ Content on VibeTag?

Only users who:

  • Are 18 years or older

  • Meet eligibility requirements

  • Have access based on their account settings

Users under 18 cannot view 18+ content under any circumstances.

Tips to Avoid Unintended Restrictions

To reduce the chances of your content being restricted:

  • Review VibeTag’s Community Guidelines before posting

  • Avoid explicit imagery or overly suggestive framing

  • Use appropriate captions and hashtags

  • Consider your audience and context carefully

Why VibeTag Uses Age Restrictions

Age restrictions help us:

  • Protect minors

  • Meet legal and safety standards

  • Encourage responsible content sharing

  • Maintain a balanced and inclusive community

Our goal is not to censor creators, but to ensure content reaches the right audience in the right context.
