I would have to say "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. It tackles important issues like racism and injustice in a way that is still impactful decades later. The characters are incredibly memorable and the story is beautifully written.

"Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte is my favorite classic novel. The independent and strong-willed protagonist, the gothic atmosphere, and the captivating love story with Mr. Rochester are all reasons why it has stood the test of time. The themes of feminism and morality are still relevant today.

I have a soft spot for "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde. The exploration of vanity, beauty, and the corrupting influence of society is as relevant today as it was when it was first published. The characters are so complex and the writing is absolutely brilliant.

One classic novel that I always recommend is "1984" by George Orwell. The chilling portrayal of a dystopian society where individual freedom is limited and thought control is rampant is still eerily relevant today. The themes of government surveillance and propaganda continue to resonate with readers.
