OSRS Smithing Training Manual From level 1 through 99

David Lin

Smithing is a great skill to train in OSRS. It is a lucrative skill, and even help you gear up yourself rather than spending money on armor and weapons, or ammunition in the near future. It's a very useful skill, though of course we'll be covering methods that require a lot mor

Smithing in OSRS allows you to create weapons, armor and even ammunition like bolts and arrows. In addition, you can utilize the Superheat magic spell, which requires 43 magic along with 4 Fire Runes and 1 Nature Rune This will grant you the benefit of both Magic and Smithing experience which will enable you to work at the bank or in an underground mine easily. It is important to note that this spell only applies to Smithing bars.

Things to Be aware of about Smithing

Firstly, when leveling up Smithing particularly if you are working in conjunction with it's close companion Mining It is essential to split the work. It is not efficient to melt bars and craft them into products in one go. There's a reason individuals were often removed by larger and more well-organized factories that took up the principle of division of work.

Secondly, you need the right materials. Metal bars are made by smelting ores. From bronze to runite bars and everything else, they require metal ore (except for bronze) and in many cases coal. If you have stockpiled ores in the course of leveling Mining are useful now.

The third reason is that no skilled craftsman works without tools and blacksmiths too. To smelt metal ore, you will require a furnace. to form these pieces of metal into useful items you need a hammer , and an easily accessible anvil.

A well-known furnace because of its proximity to the bank located in Edgeville. The closest anvil to a bank is located in Varrock located just south of the western bank. There are other, more specific tools that will be discussed later.

The Blast Furnace

The Blast Furnace is a sort of minigame that requires some movement instead of clicking a button and waiting for your character to melt the metal bars from the ores. It is a fantastic choice for any smith that is looking to improve efficiency as it will require a half the amount of coal to produce the bar.

To access this center of the industry of smelting, you must first start The Giant Dwarf quest to give access to Keldagrim.

The Blast Furnace is not a requirement for any minimum Smithing levels however, up to level 60 Smithing, you will have be paying 2.5k coins every 10 minutes that you use it. In order to use the Blast Furnace for free you need the aforementioned level 60 Smithing and the partial completion of The Giant Dwarf quest.

The Blast Furnace is complex and has a lot of mechanisms. To avoid operating it all by yourself it is necessary make payments to the ever generous dwarfs the sum of 72k GP/hour.

Once you have paid the dwarves they will require you to load the needed items onto the Conveyor Belt and collect the resulting metal bars at the end of the dispenser.

WARNING! The fresh-out of the dispenser bars can be extremely hot and it is best to allow them to cool down, or you can use the water bucket or wear Ice gloves.

Using the Blast Furnace is like the smithing process and exercising. You will be more efficient in the event that you have some energy drinks in the form of Stamina drinks and wear equipment that helps reduce weight such as your Graceful outfit.

OSRS Smithing Items

Ice gloves are essential when using the Blast Furnace. You should use it since it's the most effective way to improve the quality of Smithing.

Ice gloves are given to you on The Ice Queen in White Wolf Mountain. To get to her lair you need level 50 Mining. The gloves are worthwhile for many other uses besides the Blast Furnace. They are able to be obtained using a skilled account.

Goldsmith gauntlets are one of the rewards you earn from Family Crest quest. They increase your experience gained from smelting Gold bars, from 22.5 per unit from 22.5 to 56.2 per piece. It's 2.497 times more experience. They are essential for those who are looking to advance their Smithing at the highest level possible.

Coal bags can be purchased at Prospector Percy's Nugget Shop for 100 gold nuggets. Gold nuggets can be found in the pay-dirt mined in the Motherlode Mine. Having a Coal bag is essential for miners as well as smiths alike as it can hold 27 pieces of coal inside this huge bag. In addition, having a Smithing cape can expand this bag to ensure that there are 36 slots.

Additionally it is true that any coal found within a Coal bag doesn't burden your character with additional weight, but it does add to our belief to the idea that Santa Claus is real and has this bag. What do you remember about the gifts Santa does to children who aren't good enough?

Ring of forging can be extremely useful when smelting Iron bars at a standard furnace (such as that in Edgeville). By default, when using a standard forge, there is only a 50% chance of melting Iron bars. The ring can increase this probability to 100 percent. It holds 140 charges and once they are expended it is destroyed. Ring of forging crumbles into dust.

Varrock armor is a piece of equipment that gives bonuses to the two Mining or Smithing. All tiers provide a bonus chance of 10% to smelt 2 bars simultaneously. For Varrock armor 1, this feature applies to all metals all the way to Steel. the highest level Varrock armor 4 extends the 10% bonus chance to any type of metal bar.

Note: Varrock armor only works only when you use the furnace in Edgeville.

The fastest route to 99

Levels 1 - 29 In order to instantly reach level 29 smithing you have to complete The Knight's Sword quest. This takes five minutes to complete and will instantly place your level at 29 smithing. If you're not feeling like making this quest, you can create bronze items using an anvil until the level of 15 before switching on to creating iron bars in blast furnace.

Levels 29-40 The fastest and most profitable way to get up to level 40 is to smelt iron bars with the blast furnace minigame. In order to play this minigame, you'll need to begin the Giant Dwarf quest. Following the first cutscene in the quest, you'll get full access to this minigame. To make use of the blast furnace efficiently , go to the largest blast furnace in the in the world. To access the blast furnace you'll have to pay coins into the coffer. In addition, until level 60 smithing you will need to make payments to the Blast Furnace Foreman 2.5k every 10 minutes.

To utilize the blast furnace, place a full supply of iron ore onto the belt conveyor. After you have placed your ores, equip your ice gloves to take your bars from your bar dispenser. Bank at the nearby chest and repeat the process. ( If you do not have Ice gloves, you'll need to pour a bucket of water at the dispenser each time, which could make it more difficult to progress. )

Levels 40-99 Level 40: Level 40 unlocks fastest way to train in the game which is smelting gold bars at the blast furnace. In order to do this, you'll require gloves made of ice and goldsmith gauntlets.

Equip your goldsmith gauntlets and keep the ice gloves in your inventory. You can fill the 27 remaining spots in your inventory with gold ores and place all of them onto the belt conveyor. Make sure you wait until you have an exp drop to put on your Ice gloves if you equip the gloves too early, you will not benefit from the bonus result from your goldsmith's gauntlets. Once you have your ice gloves on take all the bars from your dispensary and continue the process. This process can produce up to 38k exp/hour, but is also priced at around 1 milliliter per hour. If you do this method in total, it will cost you around 52m gold.
