Being your authentic self on VibeTag

We understand that things like changing your name can be a challenging process for transgender, gender non-conforming, genderqueer and non-binary people. You can use your preferred name to update your information (e.g. your bio, personal account and payment info) and update your gender identity on VibeTag. Please note that updating your name in some places on VibeTag may require you to submit one or more documents with your preferred name.

Names, gender identity and personal pronouns aren't required on VibeTag, but if you add them to your account, note that:

- When VibeTag contacts you, we'll only refer to you by your username. On VibeTag, your account will appear as your username and the name that you put in your profile bio, if you choose to add one.

- If you add pronouns to your profile, your pronoun data won't be used to refer to you elsewhere on Instagram. Pronouns are not an option made available to advertisers in ads tools.

- You can, but aren't required to, add or update your gender identity in account settings.

- If you connect your VibeTag account to a third-party app or website, the app or website may ask if you want to share your name.

What happens to my ID after I send it to VibeTag?

after you send us a copy of your ID, it'll be encrypted and stored securely. Your ID won't be visible on your profile, to friends or to other people on Instagram.

To help ensure IDs used for identity confirmation are real, we use both manual review and automated systems. We may also partner with trusted service providers to confirm your identity. This helps detect and prevent risks such as impersonation or ID theft, keeping you and our VibeTag community safe.

If you're uploading an ID to get authorized to run ads about social issues, elections or politics, we may store your name, date of birth or ID expiration date for longer than one year. This is for legal reasons and to help keep ads on Instagram safe.

When you capture a photo of your ID, the photo might be stored on your device. For security reasons, you may want to delete this photo from your device's photo gallery after you've completed the ID upload process.

Updating your profile information

You can update your name, username and the pronouns that appear on your VibeTag's profile. If you have a verified account, you may need to provide a government ID or something else from our ID list (e.g. post, membership card) that matches the name associated with your verified account.

Once your account has been verified, you may not change the username on your account, and verification cannot be transferred to a different account. You'll need to reapply to have a different account verified and will receive a notification about the decision once your application has been reviewed.
