Palestinians are finding it more dangerous to go grocery shopping in Gaza.
On Al Rashid Road west of Gaza City, a gathering in the northern portion of the Strip came under fire from guns and tanks when they congregated to purchase bread. One day after the event, on Monday, news agency footage was made public. In the past, Israeli forces have fired on gatherings of people attempting to receive relief. The violence, according to the UN food organization, led it to halt relief delivery to the north. Humanitarian aid attempts to reach the Gaza Strip have been obstructed by certain Israelis. As trucks waited in line to enter Gaza, the group blocked traffic in front of the border crossing with Egypt. Prior to crossing into Egypt, aid trucks are supposed to be inspected there. According to the UN humanitarian office spokesperson, Israeli authorities also stopped a recent medical evacuation convoy for several hours.
