Viktor Orban of Hungary praises the new chapter of relations with Sweden ahead of the vote on its NATO candidacy.
After nearly two years of delay, Budapest finally prepared to approve Stockholm's petition to join NATO on Friday, announcing that it had signed an agreement to buy four Saab and opened a new tab for JAS Gripen fighter jets from Sweden. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Hungary was the last member of the transatlantic military alliance to steadfastly resist Sweden's historic bid to join.
