In addition to facing an economic crisis, Cuba is also dealing with dire shortages, an increase in undernourishment among children, and a historic request for UN assistance. The COVID-19 pandemic and US sanctions have made the situation worse, making it difficult for Cubans to obtain needs and sparking a wave of protests around the nation. Many hope the world community will answer Cuba's cry for assistance because the situation is still severe.
