A deaf adolescent from a Nairobi slum has exceeded expectations by excelling in a community ballet class despite her inability to hear the music. Gorrety Akinyi, 17, the lone deaf student in her ballet class, has mastered the routines by closely mimicking her teacher and classmates.
Japan's economy is no longer the third biggest in the world. Germany surpassed the Asian nation in that ranking after the latter entered a recession and contracted during the final half of 2023. According to official data, sluggish domestic demand caused Japan's GDP to contract unexpectedly. Due to this, the central bank's intentions to end its highly loose monetary policy this year have become less assured.
