Russia and Ukraine aim their energy sectors at each other.
According to officials from both nations, Russia and Ukraine resumed their attacks on energy infrastructure overnight, resulting in plant damage and fires. In its routine situation report on Saturday, the Ukrainian army reported that Russia had launched a "massive missile attack" against Ukraine. In a Facebook post, German Galushchenko, Ukraine's energy minister also claimed that the "enemy" had assaulted the country's energy infrastructure once more. Additionally, Ukraine reported that in Russia's most recent round of strikes, 21 out of 34 drones were shot down. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that 35 attacks against Ukrainian energy facilities, defense companies, railway infrastructure, air defenses, and ammunition supplies had been conducted by Russian forces in the past week. Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, Ukraine attacked the Ilsky and Sloviansk oil refineries in Russia’s Krasnodar region with drones, causing fires at the facilities, a Ukrainian intelligence source told the Reuters news agency.
