The Israeli military claims it is still expanding its operations in the northern Gaza Strip, where the fight against Hamas began months ago. As they moved from building to building, troops could be seen sprinting and firing. Returning to long-stalled negotiations, Israeli negotiators hope to secure the release of around 130 captives that Hamas may still be holding in Gaza. Israel has only resumed discussions because, according to mediators, Hamas has lowered its demands, which include an end to the conflict.
