Zelenskyy: Glide bombs are Russia's primary instrument of warfare against Ukraine.
Ukraine claims Russian soldiers used so-called 'glide bombs' in an attack on a busy hardware shop in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Saturday, killing 15 people and injuring more than 40. Russian glide bombs, modified with wings and satellite navigation equipment, may reach targets tens of kilometers inside Ukraine while allowing the launching aircraft, such as SU-34s, to remain within Russian airspace. Despite pledges of F-16s from European partners, Ukraine does not have adequate air defense against these strikes. Ground-launched glide bombs delivered to Ukraine are blocked by Russian electronic jamming, allowing Russian glide bombs to retain aerial supremacy while destroying ground targets.
