HUGE WIN FOR J&J: Florida litigant's ovarian cancer was not caused by talc, the court said.
A Florida jury found that the ovarian cancer that killed a Florida woman in 2019 was not brought on by Johnson & Johnson's baby powder talc product. Patricia Matthey, whose family used Johnson's baby powder every day from 1965 until August 2016, when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, filed the complaint. Erik Haas, global vice president of litigation for Johnson & Johnson, stated that the verdict vindicated the corporation.
