2 Japanese Navy helicopters fall into the sea, leaving one person dead and seven others missing. Rescue and search operations are in progress.
Japanese Defense Minister Minoru Kihara said that two helicopters from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force had fallen off the island's southern shore. Late on Saturday, at around 10:30 p.m. local time, the two SH-60 helicopters, each carrying four crew members, lost their contracts close to Tori-Shima island.
