The Israeli military is moving its soldiers farther into the center and western areas of Rafah. After throwing the city into complete darkness overnight, Israeli forces took more of the border territory with Egypt known as the Philadelphi Corridor. This follows Israeli attacks on numerous sections of Rafah overnight and early Wednesday. Almost all of the hospitals are out of operation.
Again, tens of thousands of people march in London to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
Tens of thousands of protesters carried signs reading "Ceasefire now," "End genocide," and the well-known Palestinian catchphrase, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," as they marched through the heart of London on Saturday. The pro-Palestinian demonstration clogged the streets between the Houses of Parliament and Russell Square. The demonstration was passed by a smaller group of less than 100 pro-Israel supporters, who waved British and Israeli flags and performed dancing music after around ninety minutes. The UK is preparing for next month's general election, which coincides with the march. Protesters also claim that the vote will be impacted by the Gaza War.
Gaza hospitals under strain: Israeli siege puts patients in danger.
Hospitals in Gaza have been treating the injured since the conflict began, but they are continually overburdened. Many patients have no option but to sleep on the floor; some need assistance that hospitals cannot offer. Patients cannot undergo critical care abroad since the Rafah border to Egypt has been closed. The Israeli embargo is also depriving Gaza's hospitals of vital medical supplies, exacerbating the crisis. Doctors warn that if the siege is not lifted, many more people will die, and they urge international groups to put pressure on Israel to open the bridge and allow help.

Hollywood productions have always dominated the Oscars. However, in recent years, the Academy has been more accepting of foreign-language films. The 2024 Awards have received nominations for four Latin American films. Regional filmmakers claim that it might be much higher if they were able to obtain additional support.

On Al-Quds Day, the last Friday of Ramadan, an annual commemoration of Palestinian solidarity, thousands of demonstrators gathered in the capital of Iraq. Protesters reaffirmed their opposition to Israeli occupation and their sympathy with the Palestinian people.
