The Israeli military is moving its soldiers farther into the center and western areas of Rafah. After throwing the city into complete darkness overnight, Israeli forces took more of the border territory with Egypt known as the Philadelphi Corridor. This follows Israeli attacks on numerous sections of Rafah overnight and early Wednesday. Almost all of the hospitals are out of operation.

The NPC meets once a year in Beijing to deliberate on and approve financial allocations, government policies, and important legislative issues. Delegates from all over China assemble in Beijing for the annual session to examine and approve reports submitted by government officials. Among the reports they receive is the premier's work report, which summarizes the government's accomplishments and goals for the upcoming year. Along with approving the national budget and significant economic and social policies, the NPC also deliberates over and approves significant legislation and changes.
