We are steadfastly committed to Israel's security and their right to self-defense." Iran claims that the attack it carried out over the weekend was a response to Israel attacking its consulate in Damascus; nonetheless, Patel contended that the scope of Iran's action qualified as a "violation". “The United States is still assessing the status of this facility [Iran’s consulate]. I don’t have any update to offer related to that. Still, again, the sheer number of ballistic missiles and drones that Iran unleashed on Israel is irresponsible and reckless.”
