Puntland politicians are upset over the decision and have declared they would no longer recognize the federal administration. Regional authorities were upset that they had not been consulted on the modifications, according to Matt Bryden of Sahan Research.
Myanmar's civil war has displaced 2.5 million inhabitants.
Tens of thousands of people have fled to Thailand after weeks of fighting near the Thai border town of Myawaddy in Myanmar. However, many more people are still stuck within the country. The UN believes that conflict has displaced 2.5 million people since the military took control in a coup in 2021. In the second installment of his series of special reports from Myanmar, Tony Cheng experienced the horrific conditions in which many of those people live.
