Late on Friday, a massive explosion shook a Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) military installation south of Baghdad, two PMF and two security sources told Reuters. According to the two security sources, the explosion occurred on Friday night at around midnight as a result of an unidentified airstrike. The two PMF sources noted that while there were no injuries due to the strikes, there was material damage. According to PMF sources, the strikes were aimed at the PMF headquarters located at the Kalso military installation, which is close to the town of Iskandariya, approximately 50 kilometers south of Baghdad.

The parliament of Somalia has adopted changes to the country's temporary constitution and revamped of the electoral process. They provide the president, not the parliament, the authority to name and remove the prime minister. An indirect clan-based electoral system is in place in Somalia. Puntland politicians are upset over the decision and have declared they would no longer recognize the federal administration. Regional authorities were upset that they had not been consulted on the modifications, according to Matt Bryden of Sahan Research.
