Delegates from all over China assemble in Beijing for the annual session to examine and approve reports submitted by government officials. Among the reports they receive is the premier's work report, which summarizes the government's accomplishments and goals for the upcoming year. Along with approving the national budget and significant economic and social policies, the NPC also deliberates over and approves significant legislation and changes.
