Israel has only resumed discussions because, according to mediators, Hamas has lowered its demands, which include an end to the conflict.

Israeli military marches further into Rafah and has complete control of the Philadelphi corridor.
The Israeli military is moving its soldiers farther into the center and western areas of Rafah. After throwing the city into complete darkness overnight, Israeli forces took more of the border territory with Egypt known as the Philadelphi Corridor. This follows Israeli attacks on numerous sections of Rafah overnight and early Wednesday. Almost all of the hospitals are out of operation.
