Constitutional revisions in Somalia: Parliament adopts expanded presidential authority
The parliament of Somalia has adopted changes to the country's temporary constitution and revamped of the electoral process. They provide the president, not the parliament, the authority to name and remove the prime minister. An indirect clan-based electoral system is in place in Somalia. Puntland politicians are upset over the decision and have declared they would no longer recognize the federal administration. Regional authorities were upset that they had not been consulted on the modifications, according to Matt Bryden of Sahan Research.

Israel continues to seize Palestinian land ‘on an annual basis’

According to him, the original Land Day was commemorated in 1976. It was centered around a particular event in which Palestinian citizens of the state of Israel were forcibly removed from their land. They possessed no rights at all.. “They had no rights whatsoever to challenge the theft of their land, and since then, we have been seeing this marked annually,” al-Arian said. “We continue to witness this happening, not only 40 or 50 years ago, but today.”
