According to Qarmout, this entails gunfire between Israel and Lebanon, Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, and attacks on armed organizations supported by Iran in Iraq and Syria. “Now the center of attention is going back to Gaza where there is an expectation that there will be a military operation in Rafah,” Qarmout said.

Late on Friday, a massive explosion shook a Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) military installation south of Baghdad, two PMF and two security sources told Reuters. According to the two security sources, the explosion occurred on Friday night at around midnight as a result of an unidentified airstrike. The two PMF sources noted that while there were no injuries due to the strikes, there was material damage. According to PMF sources, the strikes were aimed at the PMF headquarters located at the Kalso military installation, which is close to the town of Iskandariya, approximately 50 kilometers south of Baghdad.
