The parliament of Somalia has adopted changes to the country's temporary constitution and revamped of the electoral process. They provide the president, not the parliament, the authority to name and remove the prime minister. An indirect clan-based electoral system is in place in Somalia. Puntland politicians are upset over the decision and have declared they would no longer recognize the federal administration. Regional authorities were upset that they had not been consulted on the modifications, according to Matt Bryden of Sahan Research.

ICC prosecutor charges warring parties in Darfur of war crimes
The head prosecutor of the International Criminal Court states that "there are grounds to believe" that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army have both committed war crimes in Darfur.
