Introducing AP Commencement Offshore's 30th Anniversary with Apocalypse Ceramic Homage to the Original

You've probably noticed a lot of Offshores lately, and wouldn't you know it, it's the 30th anniversary of this massive lineup. As a tribute to the original, Audemars Piguet presents the first Royal Oak Offshore in black ceramic with a ceramic bracelet, the new Selfwinding Chronograph ref. 26238C – now badder and worse than ever bold.
This burly (42mm wide, 15.4mm thick) timepiece takes inspiration from some of AP's Offshores' hottest creations from the past 30 years, but in never-before-seen combinations. Along with the newly added black ceramic bracelet, you'll also notice the Petite Tapisserie dial pattern previously reserved for the ref. 26238 Gold or titanium self-winding chronograph.high quality replica watches
It's also the first fully monochrome dial, which the AP says was difficult to achieve due to the different textures and materials used. The dial is then perforated for legibility with white hands and accents for contrast, with white Arabic numerals on the subdials and a tachymeter on the rehaut.
While AP has used ceramics many times before, it was still not easy to execute, especially when mixing polished and satin surfaces.
Inside the watch is a column-wheel flyback chronograph ref. 4404, activated by a ceramic pusher. The layout of the sub-dials is the same as on historic watches, with a slight update for 2021 to place the hours at the top so that the chronograph is read from top to bottom in order of hours, minutes and seconds. The movement has the expected Cotês de Genève, circular graining, polished bevels and other finishes we've come to expect from an AP, and a 22-carat rose gold oscillating weight.replica watches for sale

In my opinion, it is closer to the traditional Royal Oak style. But look closer and you'll find a nice monochrome touch that suggests the signal is still Offshore -- not screaming like some comedies of the past.
You'll see the iconic 6/9/12 subdial layout paired with a column wheel flyback chronograph powered by Caliber 4404. The iconic little bubble window at three o'clock still tells you the date, perfect for keeping track of the days since the robots took over. Of course, the Offshore Crown Guard is there too.
My biggest concern is that by taking styling cues and bracelets from the main Royal Oak line, choosing to eschew the bright pops of color and oversized numbers that Offshore is usually known for might start to blur the lines a bit. But when you get back to fighting demons or wrestling Matrix-style robots or whatever you plan to do with Offshore, I doubt you'll be too worried about whether your watch bracelet is a little derivative.
